Mid-September marked a wonderful new milestone for our school as we hosted our first-ever Channing Marketplace! With vibrant energy, bustling stalls, and fantastic entertainment, the debut event brought together over 600 attendees, including families from both the Junior and Senior Schools alongside members of our wider local community.

Launching a brand-new event of this scale simply couldn't happen without dedicated support. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the over 50 volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to bring this inaugural market to life!

From the heavy lifting of setting up and packing away, to running popular attractions like the pre-loved uniform stand, used book stall 📚, bake sale 🧁, and the ever-popular Guess the Sweets contest—our volunteers did it all. Countless hours were also spent in the weeks leading up to the market sorting uniforms, collecting books, and baking treats.

We were also delighted to welcome a diverse array of local enterprise stalls, including a stall hosted by one of our very own Channing alumna - a wonderful example of our past and present community connecting! The warm community spirit was truly palpable throughout the day.

Student Talent & Showstopping Performances 🎶🎨

Our students played a central role in making this inaugural market such a resounding success. They pitched in across every aspect of the day - baking, running face-painting stations 🎨, selling goods, and lending a helping hand wherever needed.

A special highlight of the day was the unbelievable performance by the WOCK band and singers 🎸🎤, who blew everyone away with their extraordinary talent and infectious energy!
