Step into STEM - alumna, Kathryn Parsons MBE

Our final alumna we are excited to share for our Step into STEM series is Kathryn Parsons MBE, Class of 1999, Co-founder & CEO of Decoded.

Kathryn founded Decoded, a technology education company with a mission to "decode" the digital world.

Famous for teaching anyone how to “ code in a day ” , their courses now span AI, data science, web3, cyber security and beyond. Decoded has educated hundreds of thousands of leaders and future leaders globally, equipping them with the confidence, literacy and skills they need to thrive in a digital age.

Kathryn’s passion for languages led her into the world of technology. For her, code is just another language that anyone can learn.

Kathryn successfully campaigned for coding to be introduced as a mandatory subject on the UK National Curriculum in 2014, making it one of the first countries in the world to do so. She received an MBE for services to Education in the Queen's Honours. She has advised Number Ten, the London Mayor and the Department for Business.
