Amanda Davidson (Class of 1973) & her Transylvanian Connections

What comes to mind when you hear the word Transylvania? Why, colorful baroque buildings, gothic architecture and large expanses of green mountainous regions, of course. Well, you may or may not be surprised but for Channing and scores of alumnae it brings back memories of friendships and connections that traverse the English Channel, because the School has a long-standing tradition with another Unitarian school there, János Zsigmond Unitarian College.

For over a century we have had close ties with this school and (after a short hiatus) continue to run a Scholarship Programme for a lucky student to study for half of the Autumn Term at Channing whilst being hosted by a member of the Channing community.

Click here to listen to Amanda Davidson, Class of 1973, talk about her time here at Channing, the Scholarship Programme and its history.
